JOB SCOPE

Summary of Job Responsibilities

Support the Senior Manager to be the lead for the Fire Prevention Program for the entire properly.  To spearhead the Hazard Elimination Program, Fire Safety Training,  Awareness and Fire Safety Communication in accordance with the established polices and standards. To be responsible for maintaining , updating system data, analysis and trends of hazards and reporting of the fire prevention program.

Must have maturity, experience, ops-mindedness, competency, and be capable of discharging expectations of the job and work as a team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure fire prevention program requirements in the property are met and complied with.
  • Be the lead in Fire Prevention and its requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and audits within the property and ensure any fire hazards are removed promptly.
  • Coordinate with the internal stakeholders to conduct e-checklist list submissions, inspections and audits in the property as per work plans.
  • Complete fire safety inspections and audits as per plan, update findings data analysis and trends for hazards and violations.
  • Maintain and monitor progress of the E-checklist submissions tracking and analyze feedback.
  • Follow up findings with closure and programs that can be implemented.
  • Organize campaigns, training, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the team members within the property in establishing a fire safe environment.
  • Conduct fire safety awareness training and update training documents as and when required.
  • Review risk assessments with regards to hazard identification, elimination and prevention.
  • Create area specific training on based hazards and conduct training.
  • Participate in fire investigation and provide inputs on preventive measures to be taken.
  • Communicate and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure findings are properly addressed and closed in a timely manner.
  • Propose and Implement programs based on findings, analysis and trends.
  • Prepare monthly presentation slides for Fire Prevention.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with regards to fire safety matters regarding the fire prevention program.
  • To be able to initiate and propose essential improvements to the e-checklist and training system, which include planning, documentations and effective project management implementation.
  • Establishing, developing and/or improving all related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure that all essential records are documented properly, accurately and stored.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certification

  • Relevant Employment Certificate or Work Testimony, any specialized Certifications will be an added advantage.
  • At least a diploma or a degree are an advantage. Candidates with less qualifications but more years of working experience can be considered.
  • Certified Fire Safety Manager.
  • Have a good command of English.
  • Computer literate.

Experience

  • At least three to five years of solid hands-on practical working experience in any commercial or industrial building with responsibilities in fire and life safety systems.
  • Understanding of local regulations, standards and ordinances on requirements of fire prevention and hazards elimination.
  • Be able to work outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to fatigue, noise, dust, and be able to access all areas of the property including working at height.

Competencies

  • Possess good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Possess a good understanding of Fire Prevention requirements for Fire and Life Safety Systems.
  • Get along with fellow Team Members and work as a team.
  • Be able to work with minimum supervision and at times independently, as well as under pressure.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Be willing to work any day of the week and any shift, long hours when necessary.
  • Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods or prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling without restriction.
  • Have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
